Highlands Reserve is one of Orlando's most attractive communities, and is ideally located on US Highway 27, close to I4 & Hwy 192. Being located here in this quiet residential community there is easy access to all the major attractions of Walt Disney World. Also within easy reach are Universal, Sea World, Discovery Cove and the water parks of Typhoon Lagoon, Blizzard Beach and Wet n Wild. There are many excellent shopping malls for those that love to shop. Florida's beautiful beaches are only an hour's drive away with Kennedy Space Centre on the Atlantic coast. Within easy reach of the community you will find sailing, water skiing, fishing, flying, walking, cycling, horse riding, a sports center, a museum, a zoo crazy golf and cinemas.
The residential areas are built in and around the magnificent scenic par 72 golf course. The course was designed by Mike Dasher, and built in 1998. With pine tree lined fairways and citrus groves it is reminiscent of the Carolinas, it boasts multi-tiered elevations giving it breath-taking panoramic views with a Scottish feel. Large, fast, undulating greens make this course challenging and fun for all levels of golfers.
Community facilities include a clubhouse (serving light snacks), practice greens, driving range, tennis court, communal swimming pool and children's play area.
A shopping complex with a Publix supermarket is very conveniently located almost opposite the side entrance of Highlands Reserve, and other shops and restaurants are within a few minutes drive away.
There is a very good short cut just past marker 5 on the 192 that will take you directly to Animal Kingdom and Buena Vista Drive. This route is also very useful to travel to North/West Orlando or Universal Studios, as Buena Vista Drive doesn't get so busy as the 192. Directions: Go eastbound on the 192 passing Splendid China on your right. You will come to a gift shop called the Magic Castle Gift Shop which you cannot miss as it is purple with a giant wizard on the roof. Just after this is a set of traffic lights and you will see marker 5 on your left and a MacDonald's sign. Turn left at these lights after Sherberth (be careful as this road has a few sharp bends). Follow this road until you reach another set of traffic lights and then turn right at these lights onto Buena Vista Drive.
